Posthumous applications are not considered. However, the application remains eligible if the death occurs after the submission of the application.
The number of Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medals is awarded according to the following table:

A staff member of the educational institution, designated by management, must complete the application form no later than February 1st of each year for each person recommended. The online form is available on the secure site whose address is given in a letter sent annually to the management of the educational institutions.
We invite the management of every institution that wishes to submit an application and did not receive our letter, to contact us by e-mail at distinctions@mce.gouv.qc.ca.
In order to dedicate the adequate time to process the submissions, the form will not be available online after the deadline. Additionally, please note that no extension will be granted to transmit the application form, no matter what the reason.
The medal will be presented to the recipients during a number of award ceremonies presided by the Lieutenant Governor.
Upon receipt of an official letter of invitation from the Chief of Staff and Private Secretary of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, each recipient must attend, in person, the ceremony to which she or he was invited in order to receive the medal. A recipient cannot be represented otherwise than posthumously.
There is no monetary award associated with the Awards Program.
